Meet Jamie

Jamie's Bio
Jamie Jacobson has called rural Oregon home since 1999, where she has woven herself into the fabric of the community while cultivating a deep appreciation for the beauty of human connection and the richness of life’s transitions. A lifelong traveler, both nationally and internationally, Jamie is endlessly curious about people from all walks of life and the many cultural traditions that shape how we experience the world. She has long been drawn to the expressive arts, seeing in music, movement, and creativity a doorway to self-discovery and healing. Today, she brings this same curiosity, artistry, and heart into her work as a Professional Counselor Associate.

For 25 years, Jamie guided students as a college vocal instructor in the Music Department at Eastern Oregon University, helping them discover their voices, cultivate confidence, and express themselves fully. That love of nurturing growth and fostering authentic expression now finds new life in her counseling practice, where she works with adults and couples navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational challenges. She is particularly attuned to supporting performers managing performance anxiety, and she offers LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, safe, and welcoming spaces where clients can explore their authentic selves.

Jamie’s approach is eclectic and tailored, integrating concepts from evidence-based therapies such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). For clients who connect with creativity, she brings music, songwriting, and instrumental expression into the therapeutic process as additional pathways to insight and healing.
Passionate about fostering spaces where people can step fully into their lives, Jamie works to help clients uncover who they are, clarify who they want to be, and cultivate the courage to take up space in the world with authenticity and confidence. With a lifetime devoted to teaching, creativity, and human connection, she is thrilled to bring her voice, her artistry, and her love of people to this next chapter as a counselor, guiding others toward resilience, growth, and meaningful change.

Jamie holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling from Eastern Oregon University (2025), a Bachelor of Science degree in Music with a focus on Vocal Performance from Eastern Oregon University (2001), and has extensive course work towards a Master of Music degree from Boise State University with a focus on Vocal Pedagogy (2001-2006). Jamie looks forward to continuing her lifelong love of learning through continuing education and certifications in the field of mental health and counseling.
